Its the perfect time of year to pop some popcorn, put on your comfy clothes and watch those beloved holiday classics. The benefits of watching movies with your dog are endless. Whether it be brain stimulation or just good old bonding time its always the perfect time to curl up on the couch and press play. Today’s Wellness Wednesday we will give you a list of the top 5 holiday hits to watch with your furry friend.

 

5. LADY AND THE TRAMP: This Disney classic starts and ends on Christmas. Who doesn’t love a tail of a wealthy cocker spaniel falling in love with a streetwise mutt. The two experience many adventures that cause sparks to fly and tails to wag. The highlight of the movie is the ever so famous candlelit dinner kiss. This spaghetti kiss has been recreated in endless movies ever since.

 

4. THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS: Zero, is the ghostly dog companion of Jack Skellington. This dark (but family-friendly) musical holiday film is a must see. In this movie you will see Zero be a devoted friend to down in the dumps Jack. He comforts him, guides his ghastly sleight and even fetches one of Jack’s ribs. Watch this Tim Burton classic and see the two try and give Christmas a face lift.

 

3. A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS: Who doesn’t love a movie that features a beagle named Snoopy? A Charlie Brown Christmas features the Charles M. Schulz famous Peanut Gang. During the movie Charlie Brown finds himself low on holiday spirit. By the end of the movie Charlie Brown learns the true meaning of Christmas. A Charlie Brown Christmas also features many Christmas carols that are played and loved by many and the “snoopy dance” is sure to put a smile on everyones face.

 

2. HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS – You can’t go wrong watching either the animation or the live version of this movie. You will still get all the feels as you watch the Grinch who has a heart “two sizes to small” and his trusty sidekick Max find a way to destroy Christmas only to mend it at the end. This holiday classic is sure to be a hit in any household.

 

1. BEETHOVEN’S CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE: The lovable Saint Bernard from the popular Beethoven series of films has a holiday feature that is sure to be a hit for the entire family. Watch as one of Santa’s Christmas Elf’s takes off accidentally in Santa’s sleigh, crashes and lands in a small town, and loses the magic toy bag. Beethoven comes to the rescue by saving the Elf and getting the magic back from the bad guys.
