Get your first day FREE!

Your dogs will love our all-inclusive free play daycare and boarding! The Ark is a "free-play" facility, meaning dogs get to play together all day long under the watchful eye of our certified kennel crews! In free play, the dogs are in common play yards with other dogs with matching sizes and temperaments. This means that all dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people.

Fill out our simple form to register for a FREE day of daycare. This first day will be your pup's introduction to our crew and the pack. We will assess them every step of the way to make sure they love every moment.

What to expect during your first visit.

At The Ark, we hold the firm belief that every breed is unique and special, with no inherently "bad" dogs. However, our off-leash, group-play setting might not be the perfect match for every canine. Prioritizing the safety of our furry guests, we require every newcomer to undergo an initial Meet & Greet session to determine their compatibility with our daycare environment.

For this Meet & Greet assessment:

  • Kindly keep your dog on a leash or slip lead, accompanied by a collar/harness, both in the parking area and as you step into our welcoming lobby.
  • Anticipate a 10-20 minute assessment, overseen by our skilled evaluation expert.
  • While we're getting to know your pup, feel free to explore our facility, ask any questions, and enjoy a sneak peek through our playroom cameras!

FAQs

  • What do I need to bring for boarding my pet?

For dogs and cats, we recommend bringing their food, a piece of bedding that smells like home, and a toy or treat (no rawhides or tennis balls are permitted due to choking hazards). All dogs and cats are provided with beds, bowls, and house food if necessary. In addition, if your pet requires medication you will need to bring that.

Exotic pets are required to bring their enclosure, food, and any supplies necessary to make their stay comfortable and safe.

  • Do I need to bring my pet's food?

No, you do not have to bring your pet's food. However, not having your normal pet food could upset your pet's stomach. We do offer grain free house food at an additional charge of $2.50 each day.

  • Do you have a crew member with the dogs 24/7?

The Ark does not have any breed restrictions. We assess all dogs based on their behavior and temperament and do not discriminate according to breed.

  • Why is my dog so tired and thirsty when they get home?

Your dog is just like a child that visits friends, plays all day, and then falls asleep on the car ride home. We have done our job if your dog is worn out at the end of the day. Expect long naps and "the crash" after a long day of daycare or extended period of boarding. The reasons are the same for the thirst. Even though we provide ample water during your dogs entire visit they may still guzzle water down when they get home because of their increased activity level during the day.

  • Do all dogs like free play?

The simple answer is no; not all dogs enjoy a free play atmosphere. That is why we require an assessment day of daycare. Our crew will slowly introduce your dog to a playgroup and monitor them for up to 4 hours. Some dogs are too overwhelmed by the number of dogs; some are just shy; others have aggression issues that have not been addressed. Our staff has been trained to identify critical factors to know if your dog is a good fit. If you are told your dog is not a good fit for daycare, it does not mean you are a terrible dog parent or your dog is bad! It simply means a free-play atmosphere is not suitable for your dog at the time. You may need to work on socializing your dog slowly on your own; we can always try again!

  • Do dogs ever get hurt or sick at The Ark? What happens if they do?

Our crew members are trained in pet behavior, playgroup management, pet CPR, and first aid. They will monitor the dogs while they are playing and do everything possible to keep a safe, fun, and loving environment at all times, but dogs are dogs, and accidents can happen. Normal play time incidents are minor and may include scratches, nicks, or pulled patches of hair. While it is rare, more serious incidents can occur.  In addition to reducing playtime accidents, we do everything within our power to eliminate any spread of illness. We follow and sometimes exceed industry standard cleaning procedures and use quality, veterinarian-grade disinfectants to clean the entire facility. We also require all pets to be vaccinated, and we have the right to deny any pet that appears ill.  If we identify a pet that looks sick or injured, our crew will swiftly assess the situation. Depending on the severity of the situation, our crew will either take the pet to the nearest veterinarian and inform the owner immediately or for more minor issues, address the problem, apply first aid, and/or encourage the owner to have the pet checked out by their vet when possible.

  • Do you board cats and other animals?

Yes, we are not called The Ark for nothing! We have a dedicated cat room at every Ark location. We only require that the owners provide a travel enclosure and detailed feeding and care instructions for exotic pets. We can also board what we call "exotics," including everything from parrots and hamsters to lizards and turtles.

  • How do I access the pet cams?

Pet Cams are reserved for guests only and can be accessed via our location websites. Guests will be given a password to use to log into the pet cams at the time of check-in or upon request.

  • Are there any discounts?

    Yes, the discounts are:

15% OFF & One Free Kennel Bath for pets staying 6+ nights

There are also location-specific discounts you can view by clicking "Find The Ark Nearest To You!" and navigating to the boarding page of the location-specific site.
