LENDING A PAW | OCTOBER IS ADOPT A SHELTER DOG MONTH

According to records from the ASPCA there are over 3.3 million dogs waiting to be adopted in shelters and rescues in the US. Sadly, over half a million dogs and nearly one million cats are euthanized each year due to overcrowding and overpopulation. Which is why this month we would like to highlight some of our friends who undertake the very important role of getting as many pets adopted as possible! Many of these groups also take on roles of rehabilitation and emergency rescues from natural disasters and hoarding violations. Adopting a shelter dog can be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. There is nothing quite like strolling into the shelter and having your future fur baby “pick you”. In honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and in the spirit of getting as many dogs adopted as possible we would like to add a bit of incentive!
