WHAT IS FREE PLAY ALL ABOUT?

Ark Crew • Jul 09, 2019

One of the things that makes The Ark unique is our free play environment. We believe that socialization is an important part of a healthy dog’s lifestyle, so we have designed our daycare facilities to foster healthy furry friendships under the watchful eye of our crew members.

A DAY FULL OF FUN

In free play, dogs get to run, jump and chase to their heart’s content alongside dogs of similar size, age and temperament. Our crew members often join in on the fun to help maximize mental and physical stimulation for your pup. You can expect you dog to hit the sack early after a full day of fun.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT

Not every dog likes free play, and that’s ok! When a new dog arrives at The Ark, our experienced crew spend time getting to know your dog and assess whether or not they would be a good fit for free play. We slowly introduce them to a closely monitored play group and watch for key factors such as shyness, anxiety or aggression.

If we feel your dog is not quite ready for free play, that does not mean you are a bad dog parent or your dog is bad. It simply means that this particular atmosphere isn’t right for your pup at the time. We are always happy to suggest socialization and behavior tactics, and we can always try again!

SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

While we love to have fun, safety is always our first priority. That’s why every one of our crew members is CPR + First Aid certified and undergo continuous safety training about Dog Body Language and Play Group Management. You can rest easy knowing your pup is in good hands.

If you would like to learn more about our facilities, policies or culture, call or stop by your local Ark location. Our crew would be happy to give you a tour and answer any questions you have. And don’t forget - your first day of daycare is 100% free!
